Helmets/keeping your head warm in Winter.

I've been out on the bike in the freezing conditions, I was toastie warm apart from the old noggin

Under my helmet I wear a skull cap which just about covers the ears, a snood but always feel the cold on my head.

What do you hardy winter riders use ?

i find a normal buff does the job, over the ears or not depending on how cold it is, never felt the need for anything more

No less than a retrobike branded snood does the trick.

Should you need one I know just the man.



Failing that a thin beanie type hat that covers my ears

Buff over head, really cold then double it over. Another round the neck that meets the one in my head.

Or maybe I ride too fast.

Same as many. Buff on head pirate style. If it's really cold one round the neck pulled up to create balaclava with head buff. If it mental cold I do have thicker versions with breather holes plus my hood will go over my helmet & still turn with my head.

I do have a second lid that's a size to big (got the wrong size) that I'll put a hat under on the trails but not on the road or hills.

I’m a baldy with sticky-outie-ears and they work well. I bought x2, one for the neck and one for me baldy head.

Also you can tape over vents on your helmet...
