I think there should be a link to how you get your status and clear rules - maybe even a voting system - otherwise this site could descend into chaos.

Im still upset that I can only have two badges “as per the rules” yet there are many cases of people with more.

It is hard to understand what you are asking, there are pages on the site that explain the number of posts for each time spent category, eg: Newbie, Retro guru etc, though they are not really relevant and you can always have them removed or changed if you really desire.

And what do you mean by only two badges? do you mean banners? if so you can have as many as you earn!

Had a quick look but they will be buried in the depths

Something along the lines of:

Newbie up to 10 posts
Dirt Disciple up to 100
Retro Guru up to 500
Senior Retro Guru up to 2500/3000
Old School Grand Master up to 10,000
Retro Wizard

Would Retro Jedi Master technically be a higher rating than Retro Wizard ?

Well, LGF has well over 30.000 posts and still holds the Retro Wizard tag, though it was once King of the Skip Monkeys as it can be customized as i said above, so i don't think there will be.
