BoTM Bike of The Month April 2022 - nominations

Bike of The Month
It's been a long time since I threw a hat in the ring here and would only throw in one of our museum bikes if it is my personal bike. My build diary for the bike can be found here:

The bike was recently featured over at The Radavist:

1 of 2 extra large Ultimates that exist.

I raced this bike at the Keyesville Classic before the build was completely finished and that is what the photo is from below before. How it sits now is like this:

End of competition, is it fair a business puts their bikes in from the pros closet museum?

As said in the post, from their museum.
would it be okay for mombat to have done the same in the past?

Next we may have one of jmc’s bikes dropped in by Specialized U.K.

Is that fair to ppl who have 1 or 2 bikes, who after entering can not enter the same bike unless it’s a special/themed month?

Not been in the scene for a long time, so with no authority I agree. Maybe should be in the rules, that a bike included public/business/manufacturer collections, museums, books or other means of public recognition should be enough kudos for a bike. These competitions should be for amateurs and hobbyists.

Tricky one - but here's a few thoughts for what it's worth.

I would suggest that there's a number of people here that have a Retrobike related business - and I suppose the question is how much of this build was funded by the business, rather than the individual - but we will never know the answer to that.

I would further suggest, although I'm not amongst them, that some guys here would love to build a bike to museum standard and would be highly chuffed if they got asked to display their bike in one.

My closing thought, is whilst this may be sat in a museum, rather than on a wall as some mint, NOS kit are - this has not only been ridden, but raced.

This isn't meant to ruffle feathers - it's just some things that crossed my slightly hazy mid.
