GT Quatrefoil refurb/refresh..

Cheers for the clarification Mr Cheese, and cheers for the catalogue upload too, interesting reading.
Here’s a question: do you think some XT brifters I have (normally intended for canti’s) would work ok with the STX RC v-brakes, they’re St-m091/2? I have canti’s I could fit but that may be detrimental to braking power, what would you recommend?

Fair enough, I’m trying not to modernise this too much maybe some servo wave levers would fit the bill.
 
V's are definately the way to go. I have a Fisher Gemini tandem and whilst old cantis are adequate on a normal bike they are next to useless on a tandem trying to stop twice the weight. Normally I'm one for period correctness but I prioritised being able to actually stop over that on this occasion. They are a good laugh though especially offroad.
 
Been a while but time for a quick update.

Still got this and we all still enjoy riding it once in a while. Went to pull it out of the garage for a ride last weekend and found the front tyre flat. That was enough motivation to freshen it up a bit, had a spare Billy Bonkers hanging around so put that on and ordered another for the rear (arrived/fitted this morning). Also fancied chucking on these quadra 21’s to see if they’d work. Need to take it on a proper ride to see but the 2.1 tyres are much nicer than the pasela’s 1.75.
Might do a few more bits to it soon too.
