Pace RC35 - look like 1992/93 version

My version of these were PACE factory serviced last month and I asked them if the sparkler pink lower leg Racing decals were original and or missing any other decals. They said: yes all original, no other decals should be on them, they were a very early special edition they made in limited numbers in 1992 and a few into early 1993. They don’t make those decals any more (unless Gil makes them). He shouted across the workshop to his mate to confirm! 8BCDECCB-2C30-4E73-9E30-296C0D7BB579.jpeg

I have the same model RC35 purchased in 1992 after lengthy summer job between GCSE😎. The stickers are ‘iridescent’ / sparkle effect in the right light !
Yep thats what the factory mechanics called it last month, they only put them on a few/limited run I think is what they said, don’t know the tech difference in the mechanicals of the fork If any ?

only difference in fork internals was in 1993 they added a spacer to encourage better airflow when the elastomers got squished... It was known as ‘Atmossphere balance’ , bought a upgrade kit (inc. new stancions) ready for Malvern Classic 1993

Love the stickers, never knew about them being ltd edition!! cool, mine are mostly intact still

That is the best turned out Cinder Cone I've seen in a long time

Joe, have you got threads for all those builds in your sig?

If not, can we start with the Cinder Cone, followed by the JMC, please?!

PS. I'm looking for some of those gold Azonic's too... let me know if you ever see any others out in the wild.

Ermmm no none of them as yet. As per the JMC build comments before and other excuses. But getting more use to the forum now, so might put something up soon, if I get the time. Whilst most of them have been ‘get the right frame spec bike, then tweak and swap out the wrong parts for right stuff’ so never felt like a full build restoration. Although watching ’Oldshovel’ has inspired me to attempt a frame restoration some day, also made me determined to fix those previous Avids with the missing bolt. But i’ve limited myself to the 10 so the roady bike might have to go first !

watching red_dread youtube has made me realise restoration can just be ‘few tweaks to make them look right’, whilst watching peachy polish up a saddle I wouldn’t have purchased for 50p makes me think must try harder.

the thing I’m proudest of these days is the ‘garage make over’ in lockdown, but I don’t want to loose sleep about it getting busted into in London Town 🙈
