What is this elevated chain stay bike? £40 - London

the paint on the tyres isn’t a great sign....
I'm more worried about the paint on the lock. If they painted it with the lock on, it's because they don't have a key to the lock.

Quite frankly, I wouldn't touch this bike with a ten foot pole. I'd be surprised if the seller is the actual owner.

Still trying to figure out this newfangled website interface.
Is it complicated, or am I just just getting old and senile?
I'm starting to relate to this guy (

@kingoffootball
Thanks. You flatter me.

I think you're right. I think it's a Katalyst.
btw, did you modify your username?

@Rotorhead.
At that price, I'm defo interested as long as it's not deformed (bent, cracked, dented) or rusted through......or STOLEN.
Boltcutters will make short work of that cable lock. A good sandblasting will remove the crappy paint and any surface rust, and a good powdercoating will make it like new. I can get it sandblasted and powdercoated by a local pro for only $100. A treatment of J. P. Weigle's Frame Saver will best prepare it for a long happy life, especially in the high desert where I live. I'd just want the frame, forks, seatpost, stem, and bars, and you could keep the rest of it (it's less expensive to ship that way as opposed to an entire bike). I'm ready whenever you are - just PM me. Naturally I'd be happy to repay the favor.

@mynchiboy
Thanks for thinking about me.

@Raging_Bulls
I hear you loud and clear about the lock, but it wouldn't be the first time that somebody forgot the combination or lost the key to a bike lock. Of course, it would be vastly different and arouse suspicion or give one pause if the cable lock was routed through one of the wheels, i.e., "locked", and even worse if it was still locked to a cut off part of a gate or an automobile wheel rim. 🤔 Hmmm. Besides, I hear that riding one of these bicycle contraptions might actually help me to lose weight.;) If I gain any more weight I'll beep when I back up (
).

PM sent. Ready to parachute in!

I messaged them a while ago and never got a reply.

The paint on the tyres looks weird as it has the same pattern on front and rear tyres. So not sure if the frame has been sprayed with those tyres on as the front forks don't look like they have been sprayed.

Looks like it was or was going to be used as a ghost bike judging by the paint, which would be enough to creep me out on it's own

Based on what Rotorhead has found out so far, methinks there are way too many red flags involved with this one for me to pursue it. If one of you were mugged while trying to get this for me, I'd never forgive myself. Let's see if this one shows up on the evening news wherein the unsuspecting buyer explains how he got ripped off and the diabolical perp makes his getaway.
