With the sun shining, and Proflex being discussed a lot more, it seemed sensible to bring out this.....a 1994 ProFlex 855. Medium...which was considered 18inch by Proflex. Owned by me from new and bought from Magic Cycles in the East End, and ridden on the South Downs, where it excelled as a miles-muncher. All up it was under 25lbs fully built. All bearings are excellent. All the tiny dedicated bits are present including the now unobtainable elastomer spacers. Elastomers are toast - but available on here. This will be fabulous when built up. 160 gbp plus postage - the forks tend to go for 125+ so I reckon that’s a good price. PM for dibs. Thanks.

That's a nice offering. Shocks are easily fettled. Girvin bar ends, legible letters. Decent rise on girvin stem. All good.

Yep, great bikes and a great price. like above the shocks are easily sorted, you can still get springed replacements for them too. The bike is a '95 not '94 btw. Glad its found a home now though.

Mk One - you are absolutely right - 1995 - I was widowed in ‘94 and thought I had bought this in the Autumn, but thinking back I bought this the following Spring. There was no second-hand scene then, bar bike jumbles at big races - remember them? - so I traded in my wife’s Klein, which was way too small for me. I had built up that particular Klein with a full Mavic groupset, including the weird Mavic underbar levers. Looked great. Worked like pants.

You mentioned springed replacements for the proflex elastomers, do you know if anyone does springed replacements for GT LTS elastomers? Thanks...

You can be quiet... ;) It'll be for the 60th anniversary of a friend who debuted his 90's DH race period on ProFlex... A cool and famous guy who has raced event like Grundig WC at Cap d'Ail in 94' and won some Megavalanche races... I think this frameset was a nice gift and time capsule for him... Maybe you can find it soon in his shop at l'Alpe d'Huez soon...😄
