1988 Fisher Montare XT

Dirt Disciple
So I purchased this bike off Craigslist. It's in awesome condition minus touch points. Unfortunately the fork was replaced with what looks like a Specialized Future Shock, needs rebuilding. The frame is 20" and the steerer is 144mm. I was hoping someone might be able to give me the specs for the original fork such as length of the legs and the rake? I do not think I will be able to find an original fork but maybe something close?
Thanks for any additional information.

I think I did the photos the hard way? The 1988 Fisher Montare XT came in 2 color options all, Red or a Blue fade to White.

Hi, as long as you know it is an '88 (I think '89 changed to evolution fork steerer tube of 1 1/4"), any 26" and 1" Tange Fork or similar, longer than your steerer and with a 1.5" to 2" rake will work. Just decide if you wan a more stable or shorter geometry. For '88 maybe also '87, Fisher used a longer 1 7/8" for the Competition, Procaliber, and CR7 and a shorter rake of 1 3/4" on all other models

This is good information, thank you. Any idea on the axle to crown measurements?

Sorry figured out how to post pictures. Still hoping someone might know the axle to crown measurement. Thanks for any additional information.
