August 15th sees the return of the fantastic singletrack trails of Stanmer Park in the shape of a fresh and new 6 hour enduro for solos and teams: It's called: "The Brighton Big Dog." The event offers a dedicated pre-95 retro-category sponsored by Retrobike and a pre race retrobike show - winner takes the Retrobike BigDog Trophy home! Local riders have come together to put on a rider organised, not for profit, summer classic at the Stanmer venue. Our dedicated pack have been meticulously combing the park in order to unearth new and hidden gems and we can proudly say that the natural flowing singletrack has been enhanced. Whilst riders are...
The first Old World Mountain Bike Championships are to be held in Bergen (NH), 40 minutes north of Amsterdam, Holland, this September. A group of vintage mountain bike enthusiasts have come together to organise a weekend of retro bike activities, designed to crown the first Old World Mountain Bike Champions. All racers will have to use mountain bikes built before 1995, with extra points gained for original features including cantilever brakes and skinwall tyres! June 21st-22nd saw retrobike make their annual pilgrimage to Eastnor Park to take part in Mountain Mayhem. With over 25 riders and various hangers on it was an excellent turnout. Despite the British weather a great weekend was had by all, due in no small part to the excellent organisation of the event. The full aftermath discussion is going ahead in the forum here. The galleries can be seen here. Bring on next year where we'll hopefully have an even bigger and better turnout.
For those who haven't picked up the buzz on the forum retrobike will have a big presence at Mountain Mayhem 2008. As well as 4 teams, 3 solo riders and assorted hangers on we are once again having a stand in the main arena. If at MM this weekend come and say hello!
