Kona splatter paint job - some advice

Alright folks,

I'd like to freshen up a '90 Cinder Cone (white with splatter) with a fresh lick of paint.
I've always liked the splatter style so would like to keep it - has anyone used a company to replicate it/replicated it themselves?
I have a powder coater down the road and was thinking of getting him to spray the white base coat and then go from there - I was thinking adding the decals next (I've just contacted gil_m), followed by splatter and then a top clear coat - what do you think?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi rascal.....I've never tried it but it's the sort of scheme that will hide imperfections.......give it a whirl!.....the only pitfall I see is falling for the White basecoat on it's own when you see it!!!....

Interested in how this goes, as my Explosif could do with some attention  .
Guess you'd need quite thick paint to do the splatter effect. :?:

I'd just do a bit of retouching, if it really needs it - in my opinion the Paul Brodie paintjob is a large part of what makes these spatter Konas (especially the Explosif) so iconic. Remove that and it can never be as cool again.......
Plus, the original Dupont Imron is amazing stuff - mine still looks incredibly good for a 22 year old frame that's seen a lot of use and I've never found a good match for the Pistachio green either.

Sinnerman did do a very nice job on his spatter Konas though 8)
