I asked Geoff if he could make me a custom metal Saracen HT badge for my Protarax SE.

May I ask what they are made from ?

I ask as I have been experimenting with the same idea, first casting in white metal, then etching aluminium with hydrochloric acid, but the lettering is the problem, never neat enough. My plan is to enamel the coloured areas with well enamel which is glass, sort of in a cloisonne fashion with translucent enamels.

My idea was to rivet the badge on to the headtube.

My inspiration, the bike headtube badges of the past.

Ordered one now. The next question is - what is the best way to affix these to the headtube of a bike...?? Correspondance has revealed they are made from pewter, so how can I best bond this securely to the headtube??

Got mine in the Post the other day - superb!

They come with double-sided tape already applied, just peel and stick...
