Hi all,
Got myself a Klein Attitude on friday night, won it on ebay for £175 which i think is a bit of a bargain, especially as it has XTR rear mech, XT front mech, XT shifters and brake levers etc

Checked underneath and read the serial number and it turns out it is a september 96 bike, is this a Trek edition and what difference does this make??

Anyay, started stripping it all apart last night in the kitchen, which Mrs Jezrider was well chuffed with!
Now its apart i am thinking of getting it painted, tempted to go white with black stickers - so who does this type of thing and what sort of money would it cost?

Cheers all

Jonrock is the Klein paint man. I guess when you see what he can do you won't be wanting plain old white. 8) 8)

Actually, I have a 96 Attitude in pearl and it is a pretty bike. The only part I don't like is the stem/bar is black and the bike has Klein decals. If it was all pearl, that would be even more beautiful. I am going to be painting the stem/bar in the future.

Here are a few. Not the best pictures but I am traveling now and it is the best I have. Yeah, it isn't the typical Klein colors, but it is what it is. One guy on MTBR, once he saw this decided he had to have an all white Klein and bought one. There were a few all white Kleins that came that way out of the factory.

I bought the bike painted this color. At first I thought I would immediately repaint it, but once I saw it in person, it was very pretty. I would prefer to have no decals at all on the bike (no, not even Klein) although I might consider some Team Moosepoop decals like are on my primary bike.

The black stem has to go. I am going to be buying an airbrush and am considering painting the stem in a fade from a white pearl to a grayish pearl. I don't know if I will do that fade or not but it will not stay black, that is for sure.

You got a great deal on that!! I built one up in white with white bars on it and it looked very beefy. White works well with those fat tubes.

purists look away... here's my mate Jonny's 2000+ (?) single speed Attitude, it's powder coated off-white with 29er P2s which he built for £250... still need decent brakes though (white Avid Elixir are the top choice I reckon). I think the white rims & bars + Zmax look pretty meaty and it's shockingly light:
