Apollo Gran Sport (Canadian brand by Kuwahara)

So I've bought an old Apollo Gran Sport of eBay. When you say Apollo to a Canadian on the West Coast many of us get misty eyed as these were very popular Japanese sourced 10 speeds when I was growing up which had an excellent reputation for design and construction. The North American distributor was a local company which now specializes in motorcycles. Unfortunately there is not a lot of literature available for them, but from what I've read this one was in the mid to higher end range of models available. We would have called it a sport touring style bike back then. I found this one in Texas and its in very nice condition.

Full cromoly frame - not sure brand - with 100% Shimano 600 Arabesque group-set. I think the only thing not original is the tires, saddle, cables, housing and tape. I wonder if that Nitto Technomic is an after-market addition as well.

Re:

Hey there. Thanks for that. There is a smattering of information around the internet, but very little beyond a bit of history of the Kuwahara family and Fred Deely who imported the bikes from Japan to North America.
