Some photo opportunities are just too good to pass up

This little bugger has been hanging around inside my house for a few days now, so I thought I'd put him to work.

It wasn't easy to get him to pose; I had to bribe him with a cold beer.

is that a b52 bug ?

Naw, it's more like the F-117 Stealth Fighter of bugs. The Dragonfly sounds like a B-52 bomber aircraft in flight when it buzzes your head, and it's brightly colored, so you'll know it's coming, but the Praying Mantis flies silently, is camouflaged, and it kills and eats other bugs (insert evil mad scientist laugh here). :twisted:

that is my favourite all time bug....i mean bike. nice. could be a BOTM winner if you can find some bug spray?

you wouldn’t want to kill this bug with bug spray because it kills other bugs, including those that are dangerous to humans. Case in point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5avw7G7AOU
I will however brandish the bug spray just to scare him should he get out of line.
btw, BOTM sounds tempting, thanks, so I’ll post some more pics soon.

there was a time (long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away) when I would have chosen a rusty dust-covered old room-temperature 6-pack of Budweiser that had been stowed away on a grocer’s shelf and forgotten about over anything else because it was the King of Beers, but now I can afford better, and so I’m open to suggestions.

There are a bunch of microbreweries in San Diego that make some great dark beers, one of my favorite being Stone Brewing Co. They make a beer called Arrogant Bastard Ale that has so much barley and hops that it’s like drinking a loaf of wheat bread, and when you go to drain yourself, it comes out like yellow spray paint.
