Who got the mint sauce stem cap?

Do people seriously pay money for these?

Yup it is plastic, I got one free with the mag ages ago, no idea where it is now though.

I certainly wouldn't use it on a bike it doesn't look up to the job IMHO

That said, the original Aheadset specification is for a plastic top cap. So it snaps rather than allowing the bearings to be over tightened. People only started using alu caps cos they look nice!

My Ritchey headset came with a plastic top cap, which is deffo up to the job, it's just the Mint Sauce freebie is very flimsy and nowhere near the quality of the Ritchey one (it's about 1/2 as thick)

I have a diacompe one thats plastic, and that is really thick, but yes, the freebee one is very flimsy
