a bar-ends shifter is a whole other thing than a road shifter
I had one into the mid 90's
one from the XTR 950 range
I stay with my point, worng section for asking
beter luck into the road section

The request is for 'bar end shifter' what we all know and love as shifters for the ends of your bars (but not you, you'd just be grumpy about it), sometimes also referred to as 'bar-cons'.

In this context, the request is in just about the right place as most people would realise without argument that it was for a bloody drop bar MTB...

Can probably do you a far nicer purpose built stem too. Gotta remember that back of yours!
