VTT français? French MTBs / Components / Info / Pics etc.

I have one of these in my collection. Stripped it as I needed the groupset and parts for another build (and the frame isn't my size). Must have been a real quality build at the time: full Deore XT groupset, Tange Prestige tubing, Tioga stem and bars.

and here's a (bad) photo of my brothers' 1998 teambike. He was member of team Egobike Sunn (from Carpentras), a French sattelite team of Sunn.

And here's one from the 1991 catalog of Look mountainbikes. I'm currently building a Mi 80. Look is French but these frames were built in Canada (by Grisley).

Thanks for sharing these - I especially like your brothers team bike
Any idea of the frame ?

And the Look Mi80 - I have been on the look out for one of those
There’s a full campag Mi90 on eBay. But very expensive Mi90 I believe Grisley as well?

My brothers' team bike was (is - he's rebuilding it at the moment) a 1998 Exact Ti (built by Morati, I believe).

I've seen that Mi90 too and yes, pretty spendy... Don't know where the carbon fibre frames were built but the steel version (quadruple butted) were built in Canada too.

This badge is on my Mi80

That Sunn team bike is stunning

True. They really made nice bikes. His "second" bike was a steel Exact Flex. I'll ask him to send me some pics.

Sunn made inhouse stuff in france under "Brubz"; stems, bars etc.
Did Sunn make components called RUDD too?
Don't forget Specialties TA and Zefal as component/accessories makers and Michelin for tyres/tubes...were Christophe French too?

Yes, they did. And some parts named "Brute" too.
