And the link lead me to this..

That is possibly the most perfectly proportioned bike ever. And to think it was 1993...

I know!
I keep going back and looking at it - it’s perfect try proportioned and elegant - just have to admire whoever designed and built it and then assembled it so tastefully

Re:

That Berthoud really is lovely, forgot about that one.

Most of the ones I can think of are already here! MBK springs to mind as well though

Re: Any other french MTB brands ?

Mbk again from me not popular in mountain bike collection but the road bikes seem to fetch good money .
I have an MBK in my collection I thought for £25 it was worth keeping I bought a low mileage Kirk Revolution for £35 with the same thought in mind.
I find the £50 7Up bikes the same all crap bikes but iconic.

Re:

Well, I haven't had a lot of French mountain bikes! French brands didn't make me dream

my first "real" mountain bike was a Decathlon Rockrider 550 Limited (full LX, all cromo, RS Mag 21), it was in 1997.

I still have it, but now it only goes on the road

A few years ago I bought a Rockrider 720, the top of the top at the time (1995, full XT), but in poor condition :

as it was light I equipped it for the road
