Finally was able to get this home. 3 days of email and text tag to set up a meeting time.
Paid a tidy sum of my tips money...........$40.

Serial Number Y02354 - I believe this is a 1990 model

Equipped with Shimano Deore XT:
Front/Rear hubs
Frt/Rear Derailleurs
Pedals
Right Brake Lever (Left is Tektro Quartz)
Crankset FCM730

Shimano XTR:
Front/rear Rapidfire Shifters
Front/Rear V Brakes

Fisher:
Quill Stem
Handlebar
Headset - Evolution
Seat

Rims:
Front/Rear Araya RM-17 (Presta valve)
7 spd Hyperglide Cassette (XT?)
Needs new tubes and the Tioga City Slickers are....old. May have some life left.

Er....yes 40 a bargain ... but I’m just looking at that bb chainstay joint. Is it just the light or is that a definite crack or lack of material between them? Why isn’t there weld buildup around the chainstay? Is this just the way that the CR7s were made? They weren’t bonded were they?




Ah....addition...just realised I was being dopey ... rear is steel front is alloy. Can’t be welded together. May have been an engineered interference fit at the bb or the end of the tubes are swaged or .. bolted internally? I’ve never played with these so it’s an interesting issue ...

Installed two new tubes and changed the seat to a white leather Selle Italia Super Turbo.
The Tioga City Slickers seem to be holding up.
