That's dangerous given some of the people on this forum.
You see, this isn't really a cycling forum and it's not generally populated by cyclists. Sure some members are, but a lot are just folk who happen to have mountain biking as a hobby, and their views would fit in quite easily at the bar after a UKIP meeting! :facepalm:

If you are happy with the views of UKIP roadhogs who think cycles have no place on the road then I suppose that is your right. But for me, seeing members of this forum argue that cyclists should have no protection from homicidal maniacs in tin boxes doesn't sit well.

Surely most folk on here ride bikes? So should they not think riding bikes is a good thing and be in support of measures that get more folk doing it? I'm saddened when I see that isn't so. :facepalm:

Whats forgotten in the rush to point fingers is that once you are in a vehicle, YOU are in charge and responsible for everything that you do. You are in charge of that two tonnes of metal, you are responsible for the safety of those around you be it pedestrians, cyclists or other road users.

If you dont indicate, you put others at risk.

If you dont look around you, you put others at risk

Its mirror, signal, mirror, maneuver. Any other combination puts others at risk.

It cant be right that those wobbling around on 30lbs of bicycle and 2lbs of polystyrene are expected to bare the brunt of driver attitude of 'I'm in my car, get out of my way'.

Had an early night last night. What are we moaning about now? I blame the rise of the drab. Drab angry people in drab cars with drab jobs failing to see drab people in drab clothes on drab bikes on drab roads.

The increase in motorised traffic, namely cars and angry selfish people driving them has to contribute significantly. Youd thind peds woukd have gone up but the opposite.
