Today's Ride

Another sunny and warm day today.

Went for a longer ride, not sure where i was going to start but ended up going a route i usually do more in summer in the end. It made a really nice change, some scenery i havent seen for a while. Some of the trails were hard going due to still being waterlogged but mostly they were fast rolling. The route goes by a bike trail, built in a really out of the way, no one goes to, type place. Though i have never seen any other bikes there, or any where near there, and never seen any other bike tyre tracks, today i did, some one else had ridden it recently, but also some one had been and done a bit of maintenance, i guess they then rode it, though only once by the looks of it. Short but great fun.

The rest of the ride takes in some nice woodland and open country with some nice lakes and wildlife reserves. Lots of birds, not many people, great times.

Very mud splattered when home but feeling great.

Re:

Nice :)

Well it stopped raining thankfully but the higher I climbed this morning, the more mist I encountered. It certainly wasn't 7 degrees as stated in the hopeless BBC weather app so the legs were feeling the cold. Just an excuse to keep peddling to keep warm!

Still it was a cracking Friday morning ride with a quick stop on the blast down off Biggin Hill. This is the view just off the runway showing the pretty severe drop-off (severe for around here I hasten to add).

Chilly ride along the Thames Path to Crossness nature reserve. Marin Nail Trail 1999 performing well - better than rider. Both in need of a thorough wash now.

Very cold today, the wind was cutting through everything.

Quite a contrast again, though its been snow in the hills , it has been warm and starting to dry here.

Went for what was originally going to be a long easy ride, turned out quite hard going, so ended up making it a bit shorter, the legs were really heavy and the snow still soft so quite hard going, constant pedaling. It was though, great fun, if the toes were forgotten about that is :)

A few people out but no other bikes.

Snowtastic ride.

Re:

Great pics. It's far too icy for running or road cycling at the moment and the rest of the fleet are dismantled so I'm beginning to go stir crazy. Fingers crossed it melts soon. We're hitting -6 tomorrow which is unheard of down these parts. Looking out the window now, it's proper "up north" snow.

It doesn't stop Cooper from loving it - snow and ice are a winning combo; it freezes mud into a "delicious" snack

Re:

Icy, dicey, snow and bleakness. Scarcely any need for a colour photo this time. A short ride.

Cold today, though the blue skies and sun made for another beautiful day.

Tired again today, the tops are still full on winter conditions so still making the most of that. Long 5 1/2 hr climb/walk yesterday, the snow on the tops was knee deep, thats on the tracks, the drifts were up to waist deep and if you strayed off the tracks you find some really deep holes. The weather was sunny as it has been for a while now so made for a fantastic day. Once my phone decides to play ball i will upload a pic or two.

Anyway, today here it had snowed again last night, but the sun had melted a lot of it by mid morning when i set off, it was nice in the sun but damn cold, even pedaling constantly, but the upside was a lot of the mashed up from the rain ground was hard. After dinner the clouds rolled in briefly and dumped a load more snow but the sun is back out now.

Some great trails today, no one about apart from a couple of dog walkers, which is unusual, especially on such a fine day, oh, there were a couple of fishermen fishing in the small part of a lake that was in the sun and had melted, im sure they were feeling the cold as they are just sat in it, not really an action sport.

Great ride again.
