Today's Ride

Re:

It was a fender bender for sure... they started at both ends by the look of it and then concentrated on the 'duel-slalom' bit but we're not sure how they have finished it off whether its still a split section or one track now.

What a beautiful day. Just got back in from sitting in the garden, lovely warm day.

My back was feeling ok after the ride the other day so went out for another easy ride. It was quite a bit warmer than it looked, a pleasant surprise and it made for a nice ride. The breeze was warm, though still appreciated, and the sun persuaded me to stop now and again to soak in its rays

A really enjoyable ride on a really nice day.

Re:

So where am I again?

At home.

Rode to work at 7

And back at 8

Did some overtime

Long day

Took some great photos

Here they are

Tired now

Sleeeep....zzz

Found another route that gives me 2 1/2 miles more offroad at the cost of an extra 1/2 mile in total.

Nature is reclaiming a couple of stretches of the Harcamlow Way, my legs are full of histamine from some vicious nettles.

43.5 miles.

13°c am
22°c pm

Re:

The late afternoon/early evening blasts have been great. Before lockdown, this was my commuting home-time slot on the road bike. Now work from home permanently, I was finding even with the morning ride and walking Cooper in the evening, I still needed another leg pump. So here's a shot from yesterday at 17:30, a nice toasty 21 degrees. The local running clubs call this Heartbreak hill. It's nothing crazy but does get the lungs working. I call it Reddix hill after the author of this and the old thread. I always end up having a chat with his energy going up it.

Fast forward to this morning, a surprisingly chilly 9 degrees rising to a scorching 12 by 08:00. Long sleeve weather. The mist is returning, not seen since the spring so the season change is well underway.

But summer is still holding on where it can :D

 great shots al, i can never seem to capture the colours in the sky :|

Anyway, today i was dog sitting again, so i decided to just do a local hour loop.

Though the kids are back at school and it was just gone 3, there were quite a few out, mostly on bikes and all were happy enough to return a greeting, all but one, on an ebike, to be fair there could be many reasons they didn't acknowledge me, and for some strange reason it brings a smile to my face, so all good here :)

Really uneventful ride around an uneventful trail, but still enjoyed it, good to get out.

The '97 Team Explosif. The very best there is. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfunker on the trail, accept no substitutes ;)

Another chilly start, 9 degrees maybe rising to about 10/11 at 08:00. Very, very quiet on the trails so a super-ride with very few walker interruptions.

Re:

If I'm putting lights back on the bike we are seeing a season change.

Hazy morning for the ride in. Lots of dew. Got soaked by spray from some of the more overgrown paths.

It's gone very quiet along the trails. I didn't encounter more than a handful of people over the first 10 miles. I like it like that.

Very cool, left at 7 and it was about 9°c.

Coming home about 16°c or so, again quite cool. Lights used for the final couple of miles.

Today I've rounded lower Lake Constance. Perfect weather, crystal clear water at about 22°, beautiful small towns and not too many people at the end of the season :D
