Re:

As I waited for a walker to get to the top, I took a picture of one of the trails I use. This is as gnarly as it gets

That said it was a great ride this morning although nature is doing it's best to pick a fight <warning, pasty white man alert>:

Speaking of fights, I got called the c-bomb which is always a win

Yesterday evening's effort, heading up the Ridgeway out of Wallingford before looping round to Park corner and back down again. ~22 miles, and largely quiet which was nice!

Spot the Chinook! :D

Still loving this old thing. Although I wish the chain would stay put on the bumpy downhill sections.

Re:

Variations on a theme pt x

Circumstances conspired against me for the last 2 days, but not today. Time in the saddle is wellbeing time. Those were two very long days.

28°c when I went out, so not the full heat of the day, but not far off. Energy sapping, almost no breeze and the trails parched.

Had to try and stay off a couple of the local quiet lanes, as several had been surface dressed, and after a couple of numbnutted drivers had peppered me with gravel I decided on the nearest available escape.

A couple of new footpaths today. One, well trodden, across a field of barley. Fortunately, even though I've been riding a lot of footpaths recently, I've not been subjected to any abuse....yet

Re:

Nice work folks!

It's Friday, it's 17 degrees with a nice breeze, the trails are bone dry - the stoke is real!

Saw the guy who called me the c-bomb yesterday. He kept his mouth shut today

Re:

All aboard the Skylark!

Breezing across the fields, early, still 18°c, but early. Glorious morning, skylarks rising up warbling away as I head across to Bury Green. I'd like to stop and watch but no time this morning, I'm commuting and as usual time is tight, so I have to push on.

5 minutes away from the office I have to stop as my first team meeting of the day is about to start and I don't want to miss it. So I park up on the bridge that's not a bridge anymore and do the call there.
Good points - quiet, until 8 am, when sleep walkers and the new breed of stumblers appear. They're not joggers : they don't jog. They're not runners: they can't.

Bad points- going home mid-afternoon, heavy off-road traffic.

Great day, great riding. Annual leave next week = more riding time

Re:

Change of scenery

The King's Forest near Bury St Edmunds.

Couple of hours of Breckland plantation. Riding on sand can be really hard work.

Beautiful day. No more to say
