Today's Ride

Re:

MY GT single speed. I built it up out of leftover bits recently and love riding it.

Can't identify the frame origins tho. Has one set of bottle cage bolts, a rear U brake and brazed on seat clamp. Oh and it's really bloody small. Love riding it though.

If anyone knows what the hell it was originally I'd be very grateful. I think it had silver polished Heinemann concave on it. Think I may even have them somewhere still!

What's that? It's Friday? And it's almost 10 degrees this morning?

THE STOKE IS REAL

Warm day today, no breeze so a bit extreme out in the open. Found myself resting in shade as opposed to the other day resting in the sun out the wind.

Ended up just deciding direction as it presented itself, slightly long ride especially in the heat but was at a leisurley pace so not too bad. Strange coming to the fishing lake and no one was there, the fish were happy though i should imagine. Uphill all the way back and ended up cutting across fields to avoid riding around in the sun.

Great ride, hard work in the heat but really enjoyable none the less...

Re:

Relegated to the mongrel at the moment, but been putting in quite a bit of mileage. Some of that mileage has been over very chewed up and harsh bridleways that haven't yet been flattened since all the wet weather earlier in the year. With only a flexstem for comfort there's been a lot of riding with gritted teeth.
On one particularly fast and bumpy downhill section caught the back of the seat a hefty whack with the family jewels, made my eyes stream and my lower lip tremble. So much so it took quite an effort not to bin it. It's all good fun though.

Today was about 23 or so miles across farmland, pasture, through small coppices and on quiet lanes. Beautiful sunshine, light breeze, birdsong dominating the soundscape. And I forgot to change the settings on the camera yet again...

First time out on a road bike - nearest was my Raleigh Royal in the 80's. Will need a few more rides to decide if this is for me! Ride was on Tarmac B roads - not the farm track in the picture!
