Yes, you're years ahead, first they'll link the system to the GPS to locate the position and the gradient, live weather info via location and 4G networking, heartrate via a monitor and cadence via frame sensors.

Once this is tested it'll go wireless.

Gear selection will be automatically chosen based on gradient/weather/wind and sensors to select the best gear to propel the bicycle the fastest given leg power output.

Well, since there are XT Dynamo hubs and Ultegra Dynamo hubs it looks like even Shimano accept batteries are a weak point in it's quest for an electronic shifting world....
