veggies just don't eat anything with a face but the point is valid when some distinguish between meats when they are essentially all just meat wether they are a horse or a gorilla :D

The deceit with the meat is within the labelling not within the product as many clearly ate it and thought nothing of it

My biggest worry...is that the French will now invade us knowing we eat horses too

Exactly - there's nothing actually wrong with the horse content as long as the meat's fit for human consumption (I've a vague childhood memory of the old concrete Bull Ring market in Brum playing host to a horsemeat butcher), provided the contents are labelled appropriately to avoid the consequences of "passing off" and the Trades Description Act being invoked.
