SYNCROS SEAT POST BRASS CUP WASHER, FORGET THIS.

Ti Syncros with a cracked bolt flange. Sucks, eh?

Post is going to my micro welder and he's going to laser weld it for me. It's an oddball size (29.8 ), and I've shimmed my Xizang for a 27.0 XT, so I haven't been in any hurry to take it over there to have it done.

Syncros

I've taken a close look at all mine and the fronts are all flat, not scalloped for a bevel washer.
I was told by my lbs years back, that if you use a bevel washer on the front, the high forces will try and pull up inside the hole and crack it outwards, which is why all Syncros posts fail here (this makes total sense)
Never use a bevel washer without first examining the front entry point, to ensure it is flat or bevelled.
A lot of cyclists think the washer is missing, so get a washer from somewhere and hey presto, a few bumpy rides over the roughstuff and the front cracks from the hole. Nothing wrong with a small flat washer though!!!!!
I have both bevelled (from numerous rears of cracked Syncros posts ;) ) and flat ones (correct) if you need one?
