Syncros angle/slanted stem cap alternative

Ha! I have a spare that I won't let go of. The design of the cap is so unique and Syncros is the only ones using it that I picked up a spare several years ago. My original and spare are plastic bits, not aluminum.

The Specialized stems look promising but bOb's solution looks pretty cool.

Are they all the same angle or does it vary with stem angle? Surely wouldn't be overly difficult to draw up and get CNCd?

The later Syncros stems came with better alloy angled topcap but they were circular, not oval like the plastic ones.

I remember buying a couple of spares from CRC a few years ago for a fiver each.

Many thanks Brad, yes I produce 3 models : 2 In 1"1/8 and 1 In 1".

All models are renforced than original, mold in very hard resin.

In 1"1/8, have one circular same as last metallic model, and oval model same as resin model (many have cracks).

In 1" oval model.

Price : 5£+shipping.

I produce many all parts (XTR cable caps, Proshift silicon grips, ...)

Get a post up in the for sale section.

The metal top caps look cast from what I can tell and where deep seated.
The later Syncros stems had flat tops anyway ?

This was CRC topcaps :(

- The first Cattleheads had plastic angled oval topcap.
- Later ones had plastic angled round topcap.
- Some later 1" ones had cast alloy angled oval topcap as above (I've had two of these)
- Later again was the machined alloy angled round topcap like the CRC ones
- Very late stems had a standard flat topcap, I bought one of these around 2001 and was not a patch on the earlier stems.

I'm in need of a 1" top cap, if you still have them available.

Thanks,

Re:

There was someone here making them. I bought one at the time. Same as boy O boys one.

Can't remember who though

Should be easy to make your own though, thinking about it. Stopping it slipping as you tighten it up may not be so easy though.
