On offer is a used 1993 Koga Miyata Sky Carbolite frameset with XTR m900 parts.
In the USA this frameset is called the Elevation 10.000
This was the top notch Miyata full m900 / Syncros hardtail.
Miyata built these framesets untill 1995. The geometry is quite spectacular, certainly for a nineties mtb.
Downhill racing biker Greg Herbold used these framesets as a basis for his full suspension downhill bikes. With great succes.
The offered frameset here forms a perfect basis for a handbuilt nineties cross country racer.

In detail:
- Koga Miyata frameset 20.5inch (good condition, chainsuck damage, decals partly missing).
- Syncros Cattleprod quill stem with noodle (vgc, decals partly missing)
- Syncros handlebars (uncut, vgc, decals partly missing)
- Kalloy seatpost 28.6 mm (vgc)
- XTR m900 threaded headset 1.1/8 inch (smooth, marks on lower cup)
- XTR m900 bottom bracket (rough)

The frameset tubing is carbonfibre, the lugs are aluminium. The forks are also aluminium. No problems with the bonding on this frameset.
Some decals on the frame are (partly) missing.
There's chainsuck damage on the chainstay.
Condition of the frameset is 8/10

Price: 225 pound.
Shipping: at cost, please ask.

Thanks,
Remko

Re: 1993 Koga Miyata Sky Carbolite frameset

Any interest in a swap against a similar sized TiRunner...?

You and your wife could have the same frames then, so no excuses when she crushes you on your rides...

Re:

Too bad, but unfortunately the rear chainstay shows significant chainsuck damage.
Didn't notice that earlier.
I don't think it will influence the ride but ok, it's there and offcourse has it's influence on the price.
It can be repaired though.

Re:

This is just an opinion-which I know isn't necessarily the thing to do in sale threads, however.. although the chainsuck is visible and obvious; I wouldn't call it significant. It's barely gone through the lacquer layers and unless you can hear any creaking or feel any movement, it doesn't look like the stay is damaged.
I believe these were reinforced with a structural rod from the BB to the dropouts as well, so the carbon is not the only structural part of the chainstays.
I have damage similar to this (albeit on the seattube) of a used Cadex frame I bought and after lacquering over the damaged area it's never presented a problem, so I'd be hopeful your KM is similarly in fully usable condition overall. :)
