Stripped, rebuilt and upgraded with:

Shimano st-ef50-7 shifters (V brake version)
Shimano M600 front Cantilevers
Shimano Exage 500 LX rear derailleur
Shimano HG70 7 speed cassette
Shimano 400CX chainset 42/32/24 with gold Talon 24T in place of the original 20T. This chainset is new and is a very rare item with a high quality finish.
New chain and bar ends

Everything else is original. The saddle is very uncomfortable.
Really like that! I used to have a white one with Red RST Suspension forks and red Sachs wavy shifters - was stolen - back in 1996 I think

anyone have any info on this Raleigh ? not any on google or the web in general
Yes I have the same frame
It’s 1999 RSP 400 Proline
The catalogue shows the 853 version as they didn’t have a catalogue photo for it - the 400 was alloy - the higher number was 853.

Bikemeister2000 speaks of it here:
viewtopic.php?t=114041

Here is my frame when built up - it’s been stripped parts sold and is now hanging on the wall

THANKS, it seems as if yours has the same shock mount point and linkage as mine, but mine has the colors as one linked in bikemeister2000's post [ red main frame/black rear triangle] however that bike supposedly a 2001 has a completely different shock mount point[higher] and different linkage.
mine has no numbers on the frame decals but seems to be as yours except the colors [alloy]

thanks again, i am in the states, my first mtb was a Raleigh MT300 [still have it] and i bought this frame from a guy in germany on a facebook mtb page as i had never seen one and I am a huge Raleigh fan.

Yes yours seems identical to mine - mine lacks disk mounts in the rear triangle.
Yours is either a respray or an original release for another market - as all RSP bikes made had a different Head Heron badge - as mine and in these catalogues: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=160066 viewtopic.php?t=364391 The Closest in colour to yours is the DHO - but that’s 853.(catalogues are 99 and 2000)

Really like your USA you showed here - which model is it ?
And have you had a look at the Dynatech appreciation and information thread? It has hundreds of posts and all the pics and info you’d want on high end raleighs

ok, that first link to bikemeister2000's post shows the bikes with the high pivot linkage and the lower shock mount high on the seat tube, but that other previous link indicated 2001 for those ? so i am still confused lol

as far as market my RSP frame came from Germany.

my Raleigh is a 1994 MT300 originally bought with a rigid fork [i still have it] bought the specialized future shock about 4 months after i started riding it.

i also have a MT500 frame i am building up with the 2.5 hookworm smoothies.
here is a pic while fitting the 2.5 hookworms, i still have not completed it yet
the frame is similarly colored as my MT300 but i recall it should have been a silver/purple so it might be a 1995 ? also bought it from fb mt bike page

Thats coming along nicely - can’t wait to see the finished bike! I’ve always wanted a Raleigh USA - there are some nice ones in the Dynatech thread.

The linkage differs - larger alloy frames and steel 853 frames have the higher one - our smaller alloy frames have the linkage different

Here’s a thread about Raleigh head badges - the RSP all had the heron portrait rather than classic heron post 99.

This is the badge in the RSP Frames I’ve owned (99-01)
