You've got it Shaun, nutted brakes which i've changed over to allen key attachment. But even with the nutted solution the bolt is far too long for the brake bridge & looks a dogs dinner.
As for frame I have no idea how to date them to be honest, E148373 SC is the frame ID.

Can't help with dating the frame, just curious.

I have some converted campag NR brakes which have been sliced and diced to make them Allen Key and they don't look right, in the end I bought some later generation Shimano.

A bit after my time but should do the job ...

neat! they look proper jobs Shaun.

when I get a spare 5 mins i'll measure the bolt lengths on my brakes - 100% that they are original, just not sure why the rear is so long, & the front is longer than normal.
