My Rafty came stock with a rear not in line. Think that is one of the fun things from this tiny shop. If you are into Rafty you can appreciate it. By adjusting the wheels in the diagonal dropouts it can be made undone. Fix the QR, okay and go!

Of course can imagine things would be different with a bracket not in line.

yo-eddy got a tiny Zaskar that has been welded about 7 times and it is still great
