Salsa ala carte

frame looks identical to my 2005 :?

A lot of the first batch of 2005's were SS converted- as the down tube cable braze-ons were too high and hit the fork crown when the bars were turned..... They were sold off cheap to bike shop employees, a lot of whom SS'ed em.

Mine just works depending on choice of fork or headset

Still a very nice bike tho :) :)

No worries, I'll get mine tonight, really found nothing to help date these frames, it Is 1 1/8th, has a gusset under the headtube/sloping tube joint and a straight headtube, rather than one that has been thickened at the bottom?

Modern origin fits as the fork does not alter the geo as much as I would have thought a mid nighties bike would have been, if that makes sense......

As you say still a great bike, really loving it but Might need to get this bike moved to the "other" readers bikes

mind you, would you really take off a rear disc tab when getting the frame done at argos? That seems a strange step backwards?

might have been necessary to get the ss dropouts done........

Might predate the disc brake model- i'e early 2000's?
