Roberts Genesis 1993 - Repaired, repainted & rebuilding!

Re:

Beautiful paint job!

I'm nervous of that parasol pole right next to it though!

Re:

Indeed, especially with the forks just popped through without a headset!!!!

Lucky it safely wrapped up again now waiting for me

Re: Roberts Genesis 1993

So almost 3 years since this last had an update!

I moved house in the middle of that time and in the process lost track of where all the retro gold was stashed

It’s Only now with lockdown that I’ve sifted through the boxes (and boxes) of bike bits and have managed to find (almost)everything I need.

Still got a few variations to try out and no doubt there will be a few twists on the way but looking forward to get this back up and ready to ride over the next few weeks!

Re:

It's horrifying how time gets away from us.

I recently did shakedown rides of two Dave Lloyd's I'd built...2 and 4 years ago.

Re:

Isn’t it just! Especially will little kids in the mix.

Bike now in the rack, amazingly found the seat bolt clamp and the front mech roller! Was a bit worried I wouldnt find the roller and struggle to find an alternative

Re:

What a lovely colour, I am looking forward to the build.

I can't blame little kids, both of mine are grown up and long gone, my trouble has been so many road miles.

Lockdown and silly big winds are responsible for me getting back into the woods, and I am very glad I did.

Re: Roberts Genesis 1993

The DX was in the bike originally, you can’t go wrong with an XT but the g master is different class, needle bearing etc

But earlier I think, more late 80s than early 90s

Re:

I have always been a DX fan, solid and reliable.

XT is a bit more classy though, and given the name on the frame.......
