Replacement Rear Shock for MTrax ?

kenh

Retro Newbie
I have a (UK) 1999 MTrax with Reynolds 853 frame that I rather like. However, the rear RST22A shock has failed leaving only a bouncy spring.
Does anyone know what I could use to replace it? None of the aftermarket shocks I have looked at would appear to fit unless I have custom machined bushes made. The dimensions of the RST22A and fittings are:

Length between bolt centres = 6.5 inches / 165mm
Maximum diameter = 45mm
Thickness of end-pieces of the shock itself = 14.8mm
Width of top including bushes = 31mm
Width of bottom including bushes = 22mm
Bolt diameter = 6mm (both ends)

I have attached a photo.

Thanks !

To complete the circle...

I ordered custom bushes from the recommended supplier TFTuned. They were very helpful and the parts arrived the next day.
I haven't seen them yet as I had them sent to my father in the UK (so they didn't get lost in transit as sometimes seem to happen) and he is not due to arrive here (in the US) with them until July 4th.
But my new Fox RP23 shock hasn't arrived yet anyway.

One oddity. The original RSP22A was acting like a bouncy spring. I took it off to measure everything before ordering the Fox and replaced it the opposite way to the original Raleigh install (with the adjustment knob at the bottom instead of the top and the decals the right way up).
And now it seems to work just fine !

My Fox RP23 arrived yesterday so I was able to complete the installation.
It took a couple of minutes.
This is what it looks like now:
