Red steel frame..Coloured components? keep it simple? RAT!?

Re: Red steel frame... Coloured components? Or keep it simple?

What's the colour layout going to be then as in will the bars be silver or black and will the wheels be a mix of both or all one colour ? ..

Re: Red steel frame... Coloured components? Or keep it simple?

Can you get silver tyres?

Now that would be special.

Tin foil?

Re: Red steel frame... Coloured components? Or keep it simple?

hahaha  ...if anyone has a 16 inch Cotic Bfe I would probably do a trade!

Ok so anyway, when this finally gets finished it's going to be a bit different to what you would expect from a PA... bit of a 'marmite' build shall we say...!

Rigid forks....Curly (ish) bars! it can alwasy be changed if it doesnt work! I'm a bit bored of riser bars anyway

bits so far in black are:
hope headset
DMR V12s
Shimano ZEE rear mech/chainset - well kind of a dark grey(ish)
Charge spoon saddle
lizard skin chainstay protector
hope enduro wheels with nobby nic 2.35 tyres - this looks huge in this skinny frame!

bits so far in silver are:
Hope seat clamp
Hope retainer chainring 30t
SLX cassette and chain! not that they can be bought in any other colour!

a few more bits to go yet, probably next pay day... IF I haven't sold it!

here is a little teaser

slightly fugly forks...29er forks so i get a bit of height up front!

I think it would benefit from a silver headset and black seat post...

Re: Red steel frame... Coloured components? Or keep it simple?

I think silver seat post with black headset and silver handelbars and stem , well that's how i'd choose to do it if it were mine ..

Re:

Looking good so far! I'd of gone with all black probably though.
Can't believe you have gone with a silver cassette!

So folks, I've updated the original post as I'm having second thoughts on the frame colour... Please read and give constructive opinions!

Re:

Well (gratuitous pic alert!) i would choose this: I did actually. Ford GT Blue. Goes with silver, black, timeless hopefully. Rat bike are ok but if you have a pristine frame why not treat it nicely?

That is a very nice colour indeed!

I was thinking along the lines of something quite dull like a matt black or maybe a dark ivory colour... Or just rust with a layer of protective wax

Hmmmm, decisions!
