Rattle can respray

The forks on this were done with the Spray.Bike cans - worked alright. It was important for me to match the frame colour (which is original paint) and I was lucky that the Spray.Bike colour matched.

For this one I wanted to recreate the original colour. I had a recipe for it which someone had worked out using a spectrophotometer and I eventually found the UK supplier - Saris Coatings - who made up 500ml. Applied it with something called a Preval Portable spray gun which I hadn't used before but worked well for solvent based paint. The blobs are grease. I haven't finished it yet.

2005 FOX 36 VAN RC2 Restore, bought Ebay for £70, poor cosmetic condition and in desperate need of a service.
All done with rattle cans, primer and paint from Halfords, 2k clear online, paint stripper Homebase.
Acid etch primer, halfords colour paint, 2k clear gloss. Forks completely stripped for overhaul rebuild.
