Big day tomorrow. Happy day today. A few small bits arrived in anticipation, along with some lovely Karma Campag levers to replace the Tektro ones I spotted on it at present.

Chatting to the owner, it was his uncle's bike back in the day. Sadly he died in 2013 and his house cleared. Apparently there were five road bikes and lots of parts in the garage, all of which were going to be skipped. This was the only one saved and has been in storage ever since.

sadly, or happily the paint is shot. lots of scratches and pitting but nothing deep. The group is in need of a good clean but i get the impression it was serviced, the updates carried out and it was ridden a little before being put away reasonably dry for the five years after the owner's passing.

A really nice project for a flamboyant replica with a few THM touches...

Note the condition of front tyre and brev brake blocks!

Parts all need a light polish as the rust is just beginning to make an impression.
