Heres one I made earlier - 1984 Road Ace

Biggest issues - shifting, brakes and no downtube braze ons. Didnt want to get rid of it but it was lousy to ride as it was especially after being spoilt by an earlier frame with all the right bits

And heres the infamous Norman, battered and clattered but with 30 year old indexed shifting it was far better than the Ace.

Suntour shifting - Horrible!

Campagnolo shifting - No better (rear mech sold for a lot of money though!)

Then finally Shimano took over and it was all lovely

As you know, I have plenty of non-traditional (to say the least) builds with all sorts of mixtures of useful upgrades. One of them has just won rbotm again. (Regular and special months) might enter this when the time is right.

This was a nostalgic dream fulfilled rather than an exercise in comfort or ease of use. It will stay largely as is with non aero campag levers if I can find some.

Just spent a pleasant half hour with my chainsaw so tread lightly. Xxx
