Raleigh Dynatech Lo Pro Project

Re:

I've seen a couple come and go on Ebay but they did look a little battered. There's one for sale in Italy at the moment but I'm not sure I have got the beans or the love of time trials to buy that just yet. I'll keep my eye out for the Khamsin or the Ghibli...I like the decals better on the Ghibli!

Re:

That's the main issue - the skin is pretty delicate. Double the cost if you want a Ghibli - they are much better, but it's reflected in the cost. Decal kits are available so you could 'cheat' and buy any white disc wheel & sticker it up http://www.ebay.com/itm/CAMPAGNOLO-GHIB ... 1232573021

How dishonest! I think I might give the local 10 mile a try with normal wheels first, nothing worse than turning up with all the gear and having your nose rubbed in it!

Hey, I know this is an old post, did you ever get around to taking a finished photo?
I have one of these frames from new, was built up with Deltas like yours but then swapped for The lighter DA7402 brakes. Was the fastest bike I have ridden.
Still have the frameset hung up in the shed

Re:

Hiya, sadly time and funds have escaped me so the frame hangs on the garage wall waiting for me to show it some love. I have taken the deltas off it and put them back on the Dynatech road bike. I need to refit the BB and cranks, find some new shifters and calipers (monoplaner chorus maybe?) and I might treat myself to a Mavic Comete rear wheel - there's a couple on Ebay or Brick Lane Bikes have one.

Re:

What is it they say? The road to hell is paved with good intentions? I had planned to TT mine this spring but my winter schedule has been shot to pieces by one illness after another. Maybe go for some September old timer 10s with the Yeovil Cycle Club? lol

Yes, I'm just over the border...but too far to cycle there and back!

Evening all, I've been absent from the 'retro scene' for a bit as I've been distracted by things more modern but I fancied building something retro to have a go at some TTs this summer. I picked up this frame today from a chap on Ebay, the rear wheel, and all shiny Campagnolo bits are donated by the RBoTM Castorama team replica I built. The 650C front wheel is a NOS Campagnolo Omega 19 rim on a new Ambrosio 28h hub which I've built up in a radial pattern.

The butchered ITM handlebars and stem came from France and the tri bars came attached to a Cinelli handlebar/stem combo that I will post for sale on here soon. I'm just waiting on a pair of NOS Michelin Hi LIte Supercomp HD 650C front tyres to come from the USA.

I'll get round to sorting swapping the brake levers over on the weekend and I'll wrap the bars with white Benotto tape. The 13-23 Regina America freewheel will also give way to a 12-21 when it arrives. Then it'll be full steam ahead to be humiliated at my first 10 mile TT since 1991!

Hopefully I will be able to post up the final version shortly. I was going to have it painted but the colour scheme is growing on me!

stunning bike, mines been tucked in the garage for 5 or 6 years, I'll have to dig it out, I lost my job at start of COVID and had to sell some parts off her, I regret it now, I could never replace those deltas, for the price on eBay now, for a clean set. I know she was an ex works bike. sbdu numbers on the bb somewhere. light as a feather. how ever I've pulled on the pounds and I'd look a proper flying banana on it now :(
