This week I made a start of this project. Crashes, vacations slow down this one but in the next weeks I hope I can find some time on my fingers.

First parts are just "hanging" on the bike because I wanna to have an idea how the black parts where look like (my other 3 Gios bike have alu colored parts).

Not bad and it's nice to have some variety

I don't think the low spoke count/stickered up rims suit it at all to be honest.

Thick double wall rims tend to look best with blackwall tyres... You don't want to have too much going on visually.

So far you've got blue, chrome, black, amber, brown... looks noisy.

Still other than the colour clash I'd say it was shaping up really nice. Not familiar with campag stuff, what group is it?

I completely understand your thinking behind the new build but agree with Bats on the wheels"too noisy"- plus they just lack class.

I building racebike (wheels as well) sins I was 13 years old and that's a long way back.
In 44 years building over 150 bike's (own use and friends only) in steal with classic aluminium colored parts.

Even on my age :facepalm: I need some changes so this bike in this topic is an adventures search.

Not the same old trick

The frame and black part are a giving fact, but do some experiment with wheels (I have all kind off wheels), handle bar tape, tires is an option. First I build it as planned and then try some changes. Put in a few wheels with low profile rims and black tires is an easy change for example. I have a set of Neutron with black tires. If the bike is ready I can take pictures with both type of wheels. It;s not imported what kind of wheels I going to use but it's - also for the followers of this topic - interesting how both wheels look in this bike.

So for me building this bike is a small adventure. Great symbolic for the future because one of his first trips will be the Passo di Stelvio :mrgreen:

The Prodigiosa is ready to hit the road. Going to do some experiments:
Change tires for Conti Classic with brown walls???
Wheels with fewer decals??

Anyway. This Gios is totally different then my other 3 Gios bikes. I happy, very happy but retro purists maybe don't like teh black parts. So please visit my 3 other topics for blue bikes with alu colored parts :xmas-wink:

In Holland we have a real arctic summer so maiden trip.........................with old school wool jersey :shock:
