For Sale Pipmeister's legacy

ChrisMock

Retro Newbie
Hi all,

As a starting point, please forgive me if I act outside usual forum conventions - have never used such a thing before.

I am the nephew of Pip Mock, someone who I believe many of you knew either personally or virtually.

As the remaining family bike geek (though sadly not anything like to his level), much of his collection has fallen to me.

Most of the useful odds and ends have been donated to a local bike restoration charity I volunteer with. However, there are many, many obscure things that will be wasted there, but will be just right for the person looking for that exact thing (think, dampers for old SIDs etc).

Is there an approved protocol for listing loads of obscure parts here? Essentially, we all want them to go to people that genuinely need them, rather than just hoarding in case they might one day be of use.

As a side note, I'm also trying to track down a couple of old Konas for myself for a couple of projects that now feel like they can only be done with a Kona. Obviously that would have been significantly easier a few months ago, but if anyone wants to step up, any help would be appreciated.

Thank you all

The protocol is to pretty much just go ahead and list them Chris.

If you need any more information it's likely to be here:

And welcome to Retrobike!

Welcome Chris, nice to see you here. Great to have another Mock in the fold :)

You can post your wanted ad's up here

Okay, have had a chance to go through Pip's more obscure things.

Like I say, the more general bits have already been given to the charity I volunteer with.

These bits are the sort of thing that could well be exactly what someone has been looking for, but are equally really quite specific.

If anyone wants any or all of this, they are available for any suitable donation, plus covering the costs of postage.

They are currently at my dad's (Pip's brother's) house. Nerdy questions, ask me and I'll try to answer. Anything you're after, drop my dad a text on 07720 721 653 and he can get it posted.

And on a personal note, I'm after a Humu as a sort of "in his honour" type project.

Ideally the 2000 era frame, as the one here. Probably in an 18", but maybe a 20".

Kind of only need the frame, but full bike is fine also.

If anyone knows of one, do let me know.

Thank you

Welcome to RB sir.

I didn't know the great man, save by reputation, but this post made me rather emotional... what a great plan for a tribute. Can't help you but excited to see how you get on.
