Picked up a GT Timberline - '97 maybe?

Picked up a GT Timberline today for $50!
All it needed was a rear derailleur cable/housing, a bath, and it's back to road ready. A little too small for me. I'm thinking it's a 17.5 or so? Check out the three color Rock Ring, original tires and embroidered WTB saddle! Had a vintage Cat Eye Hyper halogen light mounted on it that cleaned up nice and works great! (yeah, 20 lumens maybe?)

Nice color, kind of a "metallic curry sauce."

1998 i believe. A Reynolds frame, Shimano or Wellgo SPD's, avid brakes, original tires, what looks like STX shifters and WTB saddle is a good find for $50.

Strange they didn't add rack mounts as others of this era had them? Always useful - they convert nicely into rugged touring machines. Had an online contact i was following who cycled from UK all the way to China on a late 90's GT Tequesta with 30kg of gear on the back.

Measured it and it is a 16" (BB to center of top tube). Yes, has the Avid 20s V brakes, Avid AD -1.0L levers, STX-RC rear derailleur, Shimano A front derailleur, Suntour XR300 crank, STX-RC 8S Paralax rear hub, GT front hub, and ZAC 19 wheels front and back. I think it's completely original because even the rubber grips are "GT" branded and has the Tioga Aheadset headset.

Frame has the fender and rack eyelets on the rear dropout but you're right, no eyelets on the upper stays. Maybe because it's a 16" frame and the rack would have to clamp to upper seat tube?

Bike weighs in at 28 lbs exactly with pedals, Rock Ring, Bull horns on the bars, HD tubes, original tires, and heavy seat and seat post. Thinking it's a 25.5 to 26 lb bike without going crazy, with just a few deletions and swaps.
