Apparently they are 1997 so should be period correct :?

anyway stevie has too many nice bikes :x

I suspect but cant be sure that your forks are slightly later and 97, and this pace is a little older than 97.

That said they would still make a happy couple together.

No expert me,but I think the frame is probably c1994,I remember seeing a very similar one in mbuk that year but they did not change much did they :?

may i quote to you the canti hanger rule:-

"if you have a canti hanger you MUST use it"

:D

go on, you know you want brakes that don't work very well!!

There was changes between the revisions of various years but they were as you suggest subtle. 1994 doesn't seem unreasonable go much earlier and you start hitting obvious differences, but it could go to 1996 model year without looking too different. The frame number on the official RB pace list will narrow it down.

its an f3

its on the serial number thread , next to my name

if you punt those wheels steve .......

First post updated with frame# ;) cheers Mike.

Would poss swap the wheels for blue Hope-hubbed hoops..

Get the Magura's on it. neilll's Pace is a prime example of how right they look.

this bike was built in 1994 or 95 by/for a bloke called tim allen
it was a student grant build and was built near wish list style
cooks cranks , xt m 735 , blue hope tit's/217 ceramics , marinovative
cantis , syncros bar, post stem ,flite ,ringle q/r's IIRC
he raced it for 2 years then went road racing
i got it in a sorry state when he part exe'd it at my lbs for a bike for his wife
the decals are a later type f5/6 i'm told (jerky will know) as it had a down
tube replaced by pace at some point , apparently the bottle boss pulled out

i'm not sure who did the build on it tho , stiff or Williamson in edinburgh
lost touch with tim about 2002 just after i got the bike
