Thought I should create a build thread for this having sought some advice on repair and paint in the general chat thread.

Bought from Si in here, the year before, had a go building it up as it was, but couldn't really get the seat post binder to work satisfactorily, as Si said!

(SOLD) Overbury’s Pioneer e-stay

This was raced in-period by a sponsored Overbury’s rider. The frame and straight bladed fork are generally in very good condition. The original team paint job is tired and would benefit from a re-paint. The seat binder has been ‘squished’ at some point so would need repairing/replacing before...

And whilst I'm a great believer in patina and 'its only original once', paint was in a bad bad way.

So dropped it off at Woodrups for repair and repaint.

I've got pretty much everything I need to do some kind of build.

Reusing what I can. However, first issue is the headset.

Had a good look at it tonight and the top cup is slightly damaged. Potentially could use it but might result in there always being play.

Any other part I'd give it a go, but don't want to have to remove a headset from fresh paint, esp. forks etc.

So short of a £££ CK, any recommendations for a 1 1/8 threaded headset. There seem to be a few around from the usual retailers but just wondered if anyone had a recommendation for one over another.

However, there are a few other bits I need or could do with ideally just to make life easier, basically a 130 oln rear wheel, chainset and bottom bracket, 27mm seat post.

I have all these things but they are on other builds etc so bit of a pain to keep shipping stuff around. So if anyone spots any of the above please shout!

I pretty much karmaed all my retro stash a few weeks ago, save for a bikes worth of Deore MT60, plus a bit of m730, and a few other bits and bobs.

However, I've just bought a SRAM NX 12 speed set up, so will give that a whirl for the drivetrain, with XT cantis for stopping. Not sure if it's a U or cantis at the back.
