[Once A Hero]

Another from me, this time I think early / mid 90’s bare carbon fibre bars. No branding other than the remnants of a single decal with the letters “Tu”.
Any ideas?

Those are Lendal handlebars. Decal says ‘Tube by Lendal’. They were a canoe paddle maker who turned their skills to MTBs in the early 90s but didn’t last long (just like the bars)

They were one of the first readily available carbon bars in the UK. Certainly a rarity, and one of those early 90s things I like. I’m not sure whether I would trust them in anger (would anyone trust any 30 year old carbon bars..) but they're certainly a superb garage queen bit of kit

Lendal Carbon Fibre Handlebar

In good condition. Very light handlebar. Length: 530mm Weight: About 110g Ends are reinforced for bar ends. Looking for £30 inc postage or offers Cheers :)

I had a set of those that came on a late 80s Raleigh Avanti. I then picked up a Venom Sabre. I can only put the two together in my head and suggest Venom (who made frames/custom bikes in Birmingham) also had some branded bar ends that made their way round.

Just found the only clip I have. I’m sure mine said something like ‘manufacturing’ and had a location underneath the Venom logo too

That is so interesting mate they can’t have made them for very long ..yours are gloss. Think I can also see evidence of some gloss black on mine just looking back at the photos
