Yesterday I took it for the first proper ride since I got it, and it might even been the first proper ride in 30 years as it shows hardly any wear :)
We had a nice retroride with 10 other retro lovers, with a lot of singletracks.
The Muddy was a joy to ride, first of all because it really rides like new, so smooth!
It is very comfortable, with the more up right position and wide handlebars with backsweep.
I hadn't prepared it since I bouht it other then changing tires, and it held up great.
Only thing is the axle came a little loose and needs some grease.
So a very nice maiden ride, there will be a lot more I hope.

Totday I took it for a ride on maybe the last summer day of the year.
I like this ride so much! I'll give it a very good clean and polish in the winter, it should look new!

Re:

I can't help it
5 years ago, I would have thought, nothing to write home about

now I find these mid eighties machines lovely

and I think I am not the only one as the clock on retrobike seems to be ticking back

I just bought a early 86 MBK with a triple TA crankset and Dia Compe canti's

:) Love to see the MBK!
My interest has also shifted from earlie 90's to '80 and now '70.
Can't to see my clunker finished.

Not home yet
will take several weeks as I am using some friends help.
But amusing as pretty rare and with its TA crankset and long cage Sachs Huret New Success rear derailleur, , rather representative of the start of the MTB scene , using road or rather touring components
