I don't think stumpies ever came with rack mounts. Not that I know very much TBH. But I'm sure I read it somewhere.

here's p20's mates bike only got lower mounts...


I meant the ones at the brake bridge. Have to say again though its my one 'how to identify a stumpy' fact that came from an unknown source and I've always taken as gospel.
 
Its a 1989 frame.

Just had 10 mins on google images, and all the pre 1990 Stumpjumpers I found have the upper rack mounts.

2 x 1989 Stumpjumpers I looked at are identical to this frame.
