I will go through this evening and update the serials - I know it's been ages. I apologise, it's because I'm lame.
 
Had an exchange with Rob Vandermark on twitter earlier.

Was asking about putting disc mounts on my XLM. he said because the chainstays weren't designed for the load, it'd squeal

1996 Merlin XLM 18.75" - XM238
"Extralight" on the top tube rather than "XLM" is original according to the previous owner who purchased it new along with a matching Extralight Road frame in August 1996.

XM3xx 16.25" Extralight

Bought this frame 6 weeks ago from the original owner. Beautiful frame and very light too. 1310 gr. I'll fit a SID and M950 running gear. And hopefully use it more than the previous owner.
