How much did these sell for BITD?

On my first summer job back in '94 a guy I worked with had one. It was the first proper MTB I had seen in the flesh rather than in a magazine.

I thought it was the best thing in the world. Way beyond my budget! What was the rrp?

back in 1995 they wanted 3000 dm (deutschmark) for it
i was lucky to get it for 2200 in a sale which was still a lot of money bitd :!:
great bike, cant wait for the complete thing.
i like the 93-95 marin range.

I paid £1050 for it new, and that was with standard Marin spec, so add on the price of the upgrades, flite, M737 cantis, and whatever other bits Phil adds that were not standard.

When I had it I also had a flite, M737 spd's, M737 cantis, icon barends, Renthal bars...

As standard this bike had a mix of XT and LX parts, I suspect that Phil is replacing all the LX parts with M737 XT, something I never finished when I had it.

Looking good buddy! Love the black rims on that.

finally finished. weather is too bad to make outdoor pics. sorry.

Brilliant, I always thought that this bike came with too much blue straight from the factory, so this is far more subtle and tasteful. I also like the increased use of black too in the rims and the headset.

Good job well done! I now really need to get on and finish the bike that I replaced that with

wow... great looking bike... very subtle understated look..

i remember someone letting me have a go on theirs back in the day on a local council organised ride... pretty much the same spec as this one but with Pace suspension forks... i thought it was the best thing id ever ridden!! lightyears apart from the Ogre (raleigh) Max i had at the time..
